Cordelia seems almost confused by her question.
Isn’t the answer obvious? With Charlie’s disease
and a gunshot wound to the lung, there was no
way she would have been able to make it. At least
Cordelia’d had a fighting chance, and she’s already
hospitalized now, so she’ll eventually be f i n e .
The tube in her chest makes it impossible
for her to sit up, so all she can do is reach
out for her goddaughter’s hand.
"Charlie, I’m way less likely to die
from this than you would be. Plus,
you told me when we met that
I’d die first, right?
If that’s still going to happen,
at least this way I saved you.”
