Remaining relatively quiet, Willow snuggled into Cordelia’s side, wanting to be as close to the woman as she possibly could be. Hearing her question, she looked away, pulling her knees up to her chest in the process. She didn’t know exactly how to word the fact that she was jealous of Connor, and her anger towards the situation didn’t help matters.
“Don’t like not getting to play with you…” She said, her arms crossing themselves over her chest once again. “Stupid Connor…”
Oh. So Willow was jealous. The green-eyed monster often reared its ugly head whenever a family dynamic changed, so it really wasn’t all that surprising that this was happening now. In fact, Cordelia almost wanted to smack herself for not having noticed earlier.
Turning on the bed so she was facing Willow, Cordelia sighed lightly. “Willow,” she began, “I understand you wish we could play more. I wish we could too.” She paused, shifting Connor in her arms. “But it’s not Connor’s fault. See how little he is?” She extended her arms as far forward as she could while still having a secure grasp on him, holding out the baby for Willow to see. “He can’t do much on his own yet like you can, so he still needs our help.”
