Offering Cordelia a smile as she heard her question, Willow nodded enthusiastically. Giving another yawn shortly after, she squirmed a little, wanting to make sure that she would be able to stay awake in order to get the offered cookies and milk. Hearing her tummy rumble again, she rested her head against the woman’s shoulder.
“…Mommy? Can we watch TV too? Cartoons are gonna come on soon…” She inquired, not knowing if she had pushed Cordelia too far or not. She was still young, and was pushing the boundaries set around her in order to see how far she could go.
Within a few minutes, Dennis had floated both a glass of milk and a plate full of cookies over to the table. Murmuring her thanks to her incorporeal friend, Cordelia shifted her position so the child on her lap could reach the midnight snack.
“Okay.” she conceded hesitantly. “But just this once. We can’t make a habit of watching cartoons when you should still be sleeping.” Cordelia didn’t think that she’d be falling asleep any time soon herself, so she could stay awake for however long Willow did. She didn’t want Willow staying up for too much longer, but tonight it would be a perfect distraction from her night terrors to help her fall back asleep.
