Thinking bout Cordelia’s question for a moment or so, Willow finally gave a nod as her answer. She felt a little better having the woman running her hand through her hair, something that had always calmed her, no matter who did it.Continuing to ignore Connor, she got onto her feet, not noticing how slightly slippery the carpet was underneath her footed pajamas. Falling back down onto her bottom, she let out a small whimper, not having expected the fall to hurt as much as it had. Granted, it hadn’t hurt much at all, but given her already agitated state, she greatly exaggerated it.
“Ow!” She said, sniffling slightly as she rolled over onto her tummy in an attempt to alleviate the small irritation in her lower back and bottom.
Biting back a laugh that she knew would only upset the fallen child, Cordelia stood up. “Are you alright, sweetheart?” she asked as she walked over to Willow. Careful that she didn’t drop Connor, Cordelia crouched down and offered the girl her hand.
Even if she wasn’t holding Connor– which was about the only thing keeping him from crying currently– picking Willow up would just aggravate her injuries, so she’d have to just help her over to the bed instead.
