After tending to the fire, Faelen cooked some rabbits that he had caught while he waited for either the woman to wake up or the sun to raise. Once she woke up, he knew he was in for a long time with them woman.
“What is a Textbook?” He asked as he took the woman in with baffled eyes. Clearing his throat, Faelen spoke again, “I am Prince Faelen Ó Liatháin second in line for the throne and Commander of the King’s forces.”
Moving to stand opposite her, he asked, “And who might you be Milady?”
Cordelia stared at him, mouth agape. He had to be kidding, right?
"Okay, are you for real? First of all, everyone and their mother knows what a textbook is, so don’t even try to pull that one on me.” she scoffed, resting her hands on her hips. Well, if this was a prank, at least it was realistic.
“And secondly, did you say you’re a prince? Okay, I’ll entertain the idea for a second that this isn’t someone’s idea of a practical joke– then what kind of fairy tale land did I even wake up in? I mean, at least it’s not filled with demons and creepy crawlies, but the first person I meet is a prince? What century are you living in?”
She kept ranting long enough that, for a moment, she almost forgot to give him her name. "Oh, and I’m Cordelia Chase.“
