Faith had gotten pretty used to silence during her time in prison, but she wasn’t usually being watched like a rabid animal during said silences there. So she shifted under Cordelia’s gaze and rubbed at the back of her neck uncomfortably.
“So uh, I guess I’m just crashing here at the hotel?” She asked, looking around to take in the old-fashioned lobby curiously. Angel had still had his smaller office space and basement apartment when she’d last visited him, so though she’d heard of the hotel she’d never seen it before.
“Yeah, you are.” Cordelia affirmed. Honestly, she’d never been more glad that she didn’t live at the Hyperion. She could deal with Faith at a distance; maybe she’d even warm up to her, if Faith really had changed. But the last time they had been in the same home had ended with an elbow in Cordelia’s face– an experience that she definitely wasn’t keen on reliving any time soon.
“Your key’s here.” She lifted up a single key off the desk, dangling the chain off of her index finger, but didn’t make any move to give it to Faith. Her other arm, left without its partner to keep it upright, slid farther down her torso, curling protectively around her abdomen. “I think you’re staying in the same wing as Angel– but you’ll have to ask him to confirm that.”
