Jumping in here, but…

I definitely don’t hate Xander, but one thing I started to notice is that his relationships tend to have some degree of unhealthiness. One thing a friend pointed out to me in terms of his relationship with Cordelia is he was really intentionally cruel sometimes. Sure, Cordy’s mean back, but she was tactless and somewhat mean to everyone at the time. Xander wasn’t. I see that less with Anya, but it still bothers me.

Also the love spell that was meant for Cordelia. Oh. My god. I honestly don’t understand why the writers had her get back together with him after he tried to take control of her mind and body– WITH THE SOLE INTENTION OF HURTING HER. Cordelia Chase wouldn’t take that bullshit. And don’t even get me started on the cheating.

With his and Anya’s wedding, I’m just disappointed that all it took was a con man to convince him not to marry her, that he had more faith in a demon than his lover. I understand it’s a fear of his and a character flaw- plus, no BtVS/AtS pairing ever gets a happy ending- but it doesn’t make it any less infuriating.
