At the apology she let go on the handle and slumped into the seat. When eye contact was broken, she looked out the windshield. “Well, that explains…a lot.” Doyle bit her lip trying to think. She couldn’t just leave Cordy in this mood.  ”Well we aren’t perfect. And ye ‘ave changed princess. I’ve seen it. But I don’t want ta-” She sighed before rushing the words. “I don’t want ta be a project or a pity case. I want to understand and I’m ‘aving a ‘ard time. Please.” Doyle looked over at Cordy. “Ye ‘ad the world at yer feet and then I come along. Clearly not what ye want. So why stay if all I am ta ye is a bad fashion sense? Can ye see past that?”

He thought she’d changed? Glancing up once more, Cordelia smiled slightly.

Her expression quickly dropped, however, when she saw the look on Doyle’s face.  "Doyle, you’re not a pity case. I may wanna dress you up while you’re a girl, but that’s because I never have anyone to do this with any more.“ she admitted, bitterness seeping into her tone. "My social life outside of Angel Investigations is completely dead, and on the rare occasion that I even get to do anything like this anymore, it’s usually alone. Bringing you along doesn’t make you a project.

She’s almost a bit… well, hurt, by her last statement. Did she really think clothing was all she cared about? "Where is this all coming from?“
