Still looking ashamed at the fact she had broken something of Cordelia’s, Willow nodded, her green eyes still looking down at the floor. She hadn’t the faintest idea how the glass had fallen. She had been climbing onto the counter in order to get to the package of crackers that had been sitting there, and the next thing she had heard had been a loud crash. When she had looked down, the glass lay in shards on the floor.
“It’s in the kitchen…” She said, looking as if she were close to crying. “…do I have to take a time-out?”
“No, it’s okay.” she reassured, scooping up the tearful child into her arms. She stood back up and walked into the kitchen, immediately spotting the shattered glass spread across the floor.
“Just… stay here, okay?” Her voice sounded almost pleading as she set Willow down on a chair away from the debris. Going into the closet, she pulled out a dustpan and broom to sweep up the broken glass.
