Doyle couldn’t help but groan. Just great. The one person he hadn’t gotten to pay off yet and this is what happened. And worst of all Cordy was with him which meant a set back in trying to win her over. “Quit struggling. It’ll make things worse.”

He had to think. She wanted an explanation. It didn’t help that they weren’t facing each other. Or maybe it did help. “Yer right. Why ye, why us. And it shouldn’t ‘ave been a ye or an us. It should ‘ave just been me. They were after me and ye were around me enough that they thought we were together. I’m sorry I dragged ye inta this.” He really didn’t want to give her the whole tale of what happened. From the tone of her voice it sounded that he at least needed to give a summary. “Let’s just say I owe some folk a bit a money and am past due ta pay ‘em back. Alright?” he hoped that satisfied her.

Despite his advice, Cordelia continued to squirm against her bonds. “Alright? No, it’s not alright! I’m tied up in some creep’s basement, I could die, and you’re telling me this is all because you didn’t pay someone?!” she practically shouted, hysteria still lacing her words. If she wasn’t all tied up, she so would be killing Doyle right now.

“Oh yeah, you’ll definitely be sorry, if we even make it out of this alive!
